The nerves were undeniable as my cursor hovered over the “publish” button. My heart was pounding so hard I’m pretty sure anyone in the house could have heard it. This was it. But was it ready? Did I spend enough time on it? Was it cohesive and well designed, yet simple? Was it authentic and true to me? Was it good enough? These were the thoughts running through my head a year ago as I officially put my dream out there for everyone to see. On May 1, 2019, I officially launched my website and Kate Schultz Photography brand. I didn’t have a logo yet and I didn’t have the budget to pay a top notch web designer, but I spent months brainstorming and doodling and figuring out how to build the website I was envisioning. I was so nervous, but more than that I was proud. Excited. Ready. I had finally found my dream job and nothing was going to stand in my way.

We walked hand-in-hand to the back of the property. His hand was sweatier than normal, but it was a hot day outside. He kept putting his hand in his pocket… I was oblivious. My sister positioned me in front of some tall wispy grass to take a few senior photos. She told Joe to hop in for one and then he said words I’ll never remember. (You probably think I meant to say never forget… full transparency: I don’t remember a word he said haha) He was nervous, but more than that he was proud. Excited. Ready. He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was perfect and nothing was going to stand in our way.
Dear Joe, I love you more today than I did 5 years ago. It’s hard to believe that I’ve had this beautiful ring on my hand since the ripe old age of 18 and that in just a few months, we’ll be celebrating 5 years of marriage. Thank you for loving me the way you do and supporting my dream… even when my dream shares an anniversary with our engagement. 😉
